Logbook – day 1 by Stéphanie
Hello to all,
I have the great honor to open the Cap Optimist logbook this Wednesday, January 4, 2003.
Let me introduce you to the crew!
Our super Captain Elohim: he followed us on the Monaco – Athens crossing, he is very positive and optimistic!
The one who accompanies him in the navigation, Timothy, the last one to arrive on our expedition! Thanks to him for his reactivity and discretion. Timothy is a beautiful person.
Luce: a beautiful meeting that will take care of us. I do not tell you the meal of this evening! a treat.
Elodie: our Physiotherapist – Osteopath of shock, a pleasure to pass between her hands! she ALWAYS finds what you have!
Christel : nurse anesthetist. She has known us for a very long time and the trust we have in her is immense, she is also Margot’s mother.
Here is the club of 5!
The start was given at 14:35 local time recorded by Karin … of the ISA for the homologation of the record.
And then we started the rotations, with gloves because there are a lot of jellyfish.
It is humid and the water is about 18 degrees. The wind is light but on the side, so we row on the starboard side to protect ourselves.
Everyone is getting their bearings.
We cross a lot of boats because we are on a road…We have to be careful, because some of them don’t have AIS so we can’t see them on the radar.
Thanks to the great project manager, Alex Amand Le Mouel, who did an outstanding job. Thanks to Jérémie the photographer ! We will miss you too.
Thank you to all those who helped us in Peru: the French Embassy in Peru as reinforcements: Brice, Vincent, Laetitia, Christelle, Martine etc. Without you we would still be on the beach!
Thanks to Johanna for your precious help, we hope to see you in Tahiti.
I go to bed. I will keep in mind the images of this beautiful ceremony and also the images of the earth station in Seignosse. All these people, our families, friends were there. Thanks to them.
We embrace everyone with a special mention for all our children .
Kisses, Steph “
