Logbook – day 27 by LUCE
Hello everyone,
Thanks to Stéphanie who sings her night shift, it’s time to listen to the winds… This week didn’t leave so many free really. Otherwise the daily look of an evasive awakening that escapes from the two portholes of the front point. Precious moments of silk on a flowery carpet. Beyond the night, in the distance, the dream of seeing on the starboard side, an island, a port.
Through the prism of this restricted space, the waltz of the clouds suspended from the mast, grandiose, is, each morning, a dense face to face moving to begin, enchanted our days.
Still going strong and trying this week to put the little dishes in the big… Even if, for some it is to make complicated, it pleases me, without more expenses, to try yes, to put in our plates a little color and grace gaiety.
I see it with pleasure, a harmonious and copious breakfast is a real comfort for the rowers who come back from an often stormy, even perilous night. Smiling at the sight of a nice table, a little warmth and pleasant smells. In the evening, to be well restored at bedtime, when, in his cabin, the night extinguishes the blues, it is essential.
It is also essential, as soon as the first rays appear, to preserve oneself from all this luminosity that constantly envelops us. After so many days at sea, the mind now clamors for shade and dreams of a palm tree for the burning hours of surveillance. I wait, the cooler ones of the night that suits me more and his new stanzas. A thin crescent, this early in the week, struggled to pass the anchor ahead as it rose red. Half full, its vast reflection delights the rowers until midnight now.
And, when the bars of arrow, sometimes extinguish, illuminates then an enchanting horizon… Stephanie is still humming, it seems to her to enter this starry sky. She listens to Pavaroti sometimes, I listen to my opera over and over. To infinity, it enlarges the night, deepens it.
Even when they are lying down, after rowing for an hour, they continue to shine. May you have a restful sleep, thank you for your generous smiles that warm our hearts. Sweet night dear rowers, big and beautiful dreams I hope always bearers.
The swell of the 3000km marks and imprints bodies and souls. Fortunately for the most aching, there is Chris and Elodie. What a chance to have such precious hands on board!
As for us, team members, what is our comfort? It is in this liquid scarf. It is in every wave… There’s no doubt about it, no. It is indeed the ocean that crosses us, much more than the opposite. It is also on board, in a certain mutual aid. In the patience of those, who, without ceasing and without evil to say, behind those who forget, untie and renew the ends… close the lights…
It is especially in you and your challenges dear optimist and super optimist
When your messages of support inform us of your exploits, we on Noumène are all moved. That’s why we’re here.
Your emotions are ours and transport us…
